2. Purpose

This Manual explains records held by Anansi, how to request access under PAIA and how to exercise related rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

4. Records generally available without Form 2

Public policies, product and pricing information, help material, a customer's authenticated account exports, and invoices available through payment providers are generally available without a formal request.

5. Categories of records

Anansi may hold:

  • business administration, policies, correspondence and supplier agreements;
  • subscriptions, invoices, accounting, payment and tax records;
  • account, profile, workspace, support, referral and communication records;
  • scripts, production files, schedules, budgets, comments and collaborator information;
  • personnel and contractor records;
  • source code, configuration, logs, incidents, backups and technical documentation;
  • marketing consent, campaigns and suppression records;
  • brand, domain, software, licence and infringement records; and
  • complaints, disputes, requests, notices and compliance records.

6. Applicable legislation

Records may be held under PAIA, POPIA, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, Consumer Protection Act, Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, Copyright Act, labour legislation and other applicable laws.

7. Request procedure

A requester should complete the Information Regulator's prescribed Form 2, identify the record, explain the right to be protected and why the record is required, provide proof of identity and authority, state the preferred access form, and send it to privacy@anansipro.studio or the physical address above.

Prescribed fees may apply. A personal requester seeking their own information does not pay the request fee. We respond within PAIA's prescribed period unless lawfully extended.

Access may be refused on PAIA grounds including another person's privacy, confidential commercial information, safety, privilege, security or legal prohibition.

8. Remedies

If a request is refused or unanswered, the requester may complain to the Information Regulator or apply to a competent court as PAIA permits.

9. POPIA processing

The Privacy Notice describes processed information, data subjects, purposes, recipients, international transfers, retention and security. Providers may include payment, hosting, email, authentication, security and optional AI services.

10. Availability

This Manual is available without charge on Anansi's website or from privacy@anansipro.studio.
